My dream !

Sometimes, you feel like dreaming with your eyes open, only to make sure that you dream about it, with your eyes closed. Guess what, I intentionally started to brood over - My own little book store named - 'Quill's Confessions'. Yes, it might sound a little complex, but it does not to me. Actually speaking, there have been many times, that I have looked at a shop, eating place or corporate and thought, "Why such a name?". But, today I realize how do some names just resonate from one's heart.

Okay, so continuing with my fairy tale, the abbreviated pet name of it would be - QCs...The whole idea behind the thought is basically,my love for books (despite of the fact that I am unable to finish all the books that I have still 'unread' at home)! I want to be around the oceans of information, fascinating fiction, astounding real stories, the historical past and much more. The imagery created in my mind is vivid, with exactly the ambience, it will have!

Decked up with bean bags and rocking chairs, and sofas to melt in! Separate peg tables, along with adequate spot lighting, and green potted plants, and a soothing water arrangement along with fresh flowers. Wow, all what I want is, exactly a place I want to sit and read in. Also, as an add on, there would definitely be a small cafe, to serve coffee, tea and some snackers. I bet you are thinking, that this is Barista or yet another CCD, but no, am I to be blamed, if the best accompaniments with Books are actually small delectable bits. But, seriously dont dare challenge my culinary thoughts, and think about a banal snack menu. Not to forget, some music to refresh the environment. And only if, the destiny permits, I might just be inking my mind on paper, I mean, atleast I can give a platform to young budding writers and put their works on display in my cute little book shoppe.

Well, I just can't wait to turn my QCs into a reality... I wish I do..!!

In conversation

It is a beautiful morning, as I lie asleep, cuddled up in my cozy blanket, I am woken up by the invaluable and deeply missed yearns of my mother. With the sun basking the chrysanthemum filled garden, in its light. I leave the house in a rush, with blessings, wishes and love being emoted well by the eyes of my overtly sweet parents, and my little bro-my pet Crazy. And I undertake my journey each day, where I look forward to my targets, and to the methods taken up to achieve them and to a hope, which grows deeper each day, owing to the love shown by my near & dear ones for me.

But as I stand today, amidst a number of cars smoking away to their destinations, my eyes meet a pair of misty eyes. Yes, on the traffic signal, an old lady gathering herself in her tattered clothes, begs for alms. Her eyes tell the entire story of her desolate and despair filled state. A voice within me instructs, not to give money to beggars, but the human in me retaliates. Stranded in a place, where I can't buy food and give, the least that I can do is to give money.

I gave her a small amount, and rolled up my windows. I dont know though my car sped away from the scene, the feelings just trailed behind. I am still asking questions to myself ,
How lonely would she be?
How hungry would she be?
How cold would she be?
How hurt would she be?

With only questions and no answers... all I realize is poverty is god sent, I know, that we all are just so lucky, to be born in the homes of such sweet parents, who compromise on their dreams just to fulfil ours. I just pray to God to keep that old lady and all those in a similar state, secure, well fed and loved.
So the next time, in your conversations with God, when you complaint, just don't; rather, say a Thank You !!

Ab Bas....

Ab bas bahot hua intezaar, bahot hui Soch....

Jaane kabse mann mein, thane baithe hain!
Jaane kitne sapno se, bachpan se, rishte naate hain!

Ab toh unn khwabo ko panno pe utarana hai!
Ab toh us pyas ko aag se bujhana hai!

Ab bas bahot hua intezaar, bahot hui Soch....
Ab bas mujhe bhi kuch kar jaana hai!!

Jitna bhi uljha main, aaj sab suljhana hai!
Zindage ke kar mukaam par santosh nahin sajana hai!

Ab toh har mushkil ko lehar samajh paar kar jaana hai!
Ab toh har raat ke andhere ko, roshni se nehlana hai!

Ab bas bahot hua intezaar, bahot hui Soch....
Ab bas mujhe bhi kuch kar jaana hai!!

Mann mein jali ek aag ko , aankhon mein darshana hai!
Gale se nikli ek aah ko, lalkaar mein badlana hai!

Sau crore ki bhid mein, apna ek sthan banana hai !
Aage aake us, sau crore ki bhid ko aur aage le jaaana hai!

Ab bas bahot hua intezaar, bahot hui Soch....
Ab bas mujhe bhi kuch kar jaana hai!!

Ode to Google !

Have you ever wondered, that, if we were born in the yester years, how difficult it would have been for us to work in any bureaucratic or any large sized Multi National company!
Well, no, I am not talking about my love for the existing competitive and highly advanced market scenario.I am not even discussing the high points of the quarks generated in the business world of today, but this note comes as a token of my passionate adulation for a little window, which connects me to the entire world. Would not keep you guessing now, that huge -huge part of my office life is 'Google'.

I think, most of you reading this would surely agree with me, that definitely google plays the most important role in keeping us occupied in our pseudo busy office-life. A platform that draws all, from the knowledge hungry to fashion freaks to whiz kids to the media crazy ! All of us, 24 x 7 (read as 8.5 X 6) stick to our most loyal friend, which never lets us down, and has the answer for the most weirdest of our questions, always !Sometimes, I feel, how lucky am I to be born in this era. I cant imagine my one single day without 'googling'. If i were a cat, well, I would have been dead by now, if it were not for Google's existence, as all my curiosities are satiated by paging through the brain child of the very admired duo of, Larry Page and Sergey Brin , the masters of Google. I salute thou!!

As a background, Google was started as a university project on search engines. After getting a strong support of a venture capitalist, it rose from a small garage of California, only to become, a panacea, a remedy to all your problems. The omni presence in all imaginable sectors and fields is the USP of this search engine. But it is not only the humongous database, that attracts me towards it self, but it is also the 'Creativity' that the knights of Googledom show on an everyday basis. I love the google doodle, i.e. the various styles in which the shape their Logo, marking any occasion of any part of any country.

Dont you feel the same, I mean, just imagine it is 1975 and all of us are sitting in the office, with the same work load as today. What would we be upto, to kill time?? reading the newspaper, sleeping, staring, ...what ?? Just ponder over the thought, and I am quite sure, your love and respect for Google would increase exponentially !

Leisure vs Struggle :)

Leisure ..... but definitely only after a struggle....thrills me !

According to me, one does not realize the worth of a thing, till one first yearns for it and then works to earn it. They say, you dont realize the value of water till your throat is parched with thirst ; you dont realize the comfort of a cozy bed till your back aches for one !!
For everyone there are different barometers of judging success, for some it is money, or fame and learning etc; all these things do hold a lot of importance for me too, but only when they come with 'Contentment'. Yes, for me , mental satisfaction plays a very significant role in defining my happiness. At the end of the day, rather than anyone else, I am answerable to my own conscience.

Having said that, I do believe in hard work, and have full faith in the fact that hard work is the key to success, but in todays world, where not only your laborious efforts pave ur way to ur goal, but it is equally required to have a quick, fast and an efficient way of working. So, the evergreen age-old formula changes to "Work Smart rather than Working Hard". But this smart work still requires a struggle, though not a physical one but a mental one, by which u need to decipher a fool-proof shortcut to success. As they say, 'Change is constant', and we do need to change along with the changing times!

If u struggle for a thing, u experience its all nuances. The learning that comes along with success is like the certificate along with the prize money ! And this learning is what u miss, if u do not struggle for your ambition. Therefore, always try to yearn, learn and then earn !!

Leisure and struggles are both outcomes of each other. If u struggle, u will be able to enjoy your leisurely time and vice versa. So, put in your best of efforts to reap in your leisurely future. Also, if u know, that the END will be good, u always have a positive impetus to drive you. Try always to 'Deserve and then desire'.

PS:- But, definitely, Leisure can be and should be cherished once in a while as a sweet break!!

Can 'WE' be iconoclasts??

Behind the false face of democracy, bigotry blatantly lives on. The latest incident in this regard has been the expelling of Mr. Jaswant Singh, senior Leader of BJP. The ever controversial issue of eulogizing Mohammad Ali Jinnah, has yet again denigrated the Indian Politics.

The expulsion of Mr. Singh, with no warning has led to to a very poignant display of BJPs non secular ideology. If this had to take place, it could have been done following a dialogue between the party leaders & Mr. Singh himself. this shows that the seeds planted by RSS, keep on sprouting up in such cases. The ideology of Veer Savarkars, even in this age of modernism is being practised.

India which is the worlds largest democracy, still after 62 years of Independence fails to come together on the same platform. The information about Mr. Singh writing a book on Jinnah was not new, but has been acted upon in such hasty manner of brazened emotions. The 600 pages book released on Monday and by Wednesday, in the 'Chintan Baithak' held in Shimla, this unfair decision was taken up, with the support of all the party members who had not even cared to read the book.
All in all, in a democratic country, where the Freedom Of Speech is everyones' birthright, there this falsehood exists where influential people face this brunt in speaking their minds, then where does the 'Aam Aadmi' stand?
